Eight Ethiopians arrested in Jazan for smuggling 160 kg of khat

Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Daer sector of Jazan region have arrested eight Ethiopian nationals for violating border security regulations and smuggling 160 kilograms of the narcotic plant khat.

The Border Guard announced on its X platform account that initial legal procedures have been completed against the suspects, and both the detainees and the seized items have been handed over to the competent authorities.

Security authorities urged all citizens and residents to report any information related to drug smuggling or trafficking activities by calling (911) in the regions of Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern Province, or (999) in other regions of the Kingdom. Reports can also be made to the General Directorate of Narcotics Control at (995) or by email at [email protected]. All reports will be treated with strict confidentiality.
