Bahrain crown prince meets Saudi health minister

Bahrain's Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa met with Saudi Minister of Health Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel during a gathering of heads of delegations attending the 12th meeting of GCC health ministers.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Jalajel conveyed greetings from Saudi Arabia's leadership and their wishes for continued progress and prosperity for Bahrain and its people. The discussions highlighted the strong fraternal ties among GCC countries and the importance of further strengthening joint Gulf cooperation, particularly in the health sector, to advance healthcare systems and boost their readiness and efficiency.

The meeting took place as part of Al-Jalajel's participation in the 12th meeting of GCC health ministers and the 89th session of the Council of Health Ministers, held in Bahrain to discuss shared health priorities and enhance coordination and integration among member states.

The meetings addressed several key topics, including promoting innovation and digital transformation in healthcare, improving health preparedness, following up on the unified action plan for GCC health ministers (2026–2030), and developing cooperation and the exchange of expertise and best practices to strengthen the efficiency and sustainability of health systems and improve public health across the GCC.

Al-Jalajel also held several bilateral meetings to explore opportunities for advancing cooperation in health fields of mutual interest. He welcomed GCC health ministers to Saudi Arabia next year, which will host the 47th session of the GCC Supreme Council.
