Hot weather and thunderstorms expected across several Saudi regions

The National Center for Meteorology, in its daily report, forecast continued hot to extremely hot weather in the Eastern Province on Friday, with a chance of light rain in southern parts of the region.

The report noted that active winds stirring dust and sand will persist across parts of the Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, Tabuk, and Madinah regions. This may lead to near-zero visibility in parts of Riyadh and Najran, as well as the eastern sections of the western and southwestern highlands.

The center added that there remains a chance of thunderstorms, accompanied by hail and strong winds, over parts of the highlands in Makkah, Al-Baha, Asir, Jazan, and Najran.

Sea and wind conditions

Regarding the Red Sea, the report stated that surface winds will be northwesterly to southwesterly at 10-30 km/h, reaching over 50 km/h with thunderstorm clouds in the southern part. Wave heights will range from half a meter to 1.5 meters, possibly exceeding two meters during thunderstorms, with sea conditions varying from slight to occasionally rough.

In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly at 13-27 km/h, with wave heights from half a meter to one meter and generally slight sea conditions.
