New public education system boosts flexibility and governance, says education adviser

Education adviser Abdul Latif Al-Hammadi said the new public education system represents a significant shift in educational legislation and provides greater flexibility in developing regulations and policies.

Speaking to Al-Ekhbariya TV, he added that the Education Affairs Council is a first for Saudi education, focusing on governance and the approval of policies and regulations.

Al-Hammadi noted that the private sector will play a larger role in operating schools and enhancing the educational environment.

A royal decree was recently issued approving the public education system, which aims to strengthen the governance framework for public education, provide the necessary enablers to achieve its goals, and improve the quality of the educational environment and its outcomes. The system also organizes the roles of the private and non-profit sectors in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
