Al-Ahsa governor receives board of Sand Association for Development

Al-Ahsa Governor Saud bin Talal bin Badr received Mohammed bin Saad Al-Hussain, Chairman of the Board of Sand Association for Development, along with board members, at his office today.

During the meeting, the governor was briefed on an overview of the association, its activities, and its specialized projects focused on renovating, maintaining, and rehabilitating homes for the neediest families in the governorate. The association’s role in improving the residential environment and enhancing beneficiaries’ quality of life was highlighted as part of efforts to achieve Saudi Vision 2030 goals.

The governor also learned about the association’s operational model, which is based on engineering expertise and project management for renovation and maintenance, as well as its collaboration with partner organizations and associations. This integrated approach aims to unify efforts, reduce duplication, and achieve sustainable development impact. Since its establishment on March 12, 2025, the association has completed 11 renovation and maintenance projects, is currently implementing two projects benefiting 71 people, and has 13 projects under study and preparation targeting 40 beneficiaries.

The meeting also reviewed the association’s efforts to build partnerships with government entities, the private sector, the non-profit sector, and donors. Future plans include expanding partnerships, reaching more beneficiaries, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening financial sustainability.

The governor emphasized that supporting housing initiatives and strengthening the non-profit sector aligns with the leadership’s commitment to empowering the sector and enhancing its contribution to sustainable development. He noted that the specialized initiatives and projects provided by such associations have a tangible developmental impact for the neediest families, improve quality of life, and help provide suitable housing environments.

He praised the efforts and achievements of Sand Association for Development, stressing the importance of further developing its work and expanding its partnerships across sectors to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of housing initiatives, and to help achieve the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The chairman and board members expressed their gratitude to the governor for his support of the non-profit sector and housing initiatives, affirming their commitment to benefiting from his guidance to further develop the association’s work and its impact in serving the neediest families in the governorate.
