Arab Parliament condemns Houthi military spokesperson's remarks on Saudi Arabia

The Arab Parliament has condemned and denounced statements made by the so-called military spokesperson of the Houthi militia, accusing Saudi Arabia of besieging the Yemeni people and imposing a blockade on maritime navigation.

In a statement, Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi affirmed the parliament's complete rejection of these provocative and irresponsible remarks, which contradict the Kingdom's ongoing efforts and continuous support for the Yemeni people.

He stressed the Arab Parliament's firm rejection of any offensive statements or threats targeting Saudi Arabia or undermining its sovereignty and national security, emphasizing that the Kingdom's security is an integral part of Arab national security.

Al-Yamahi called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take necessary measures to implement relevant UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2722, to ensure the protection of freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and deter any actions that threaten regional and international peace and security.

He reiterated the Arab Parliament's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all legitimate measures the Kingdom takes to safeguard its security, territorial integrity, and interests.
