Pakistani resident arrested for transporting border security violators

The General Directorate of Passports has arrested a Pakistani resident for transporting two fellow nationals who violated border security regulations through the King Fahd Causeway in the Eastern Province.

The Passports Directorate stated that all those involved have been detained and legal measures have been taken. The two violators were referred to the relevant authorities, while the transporter was referred to the Public Prosecution.

Spokesman for the General Directorate of Passports, Major Nasser Al-Otaibi, warned that anyone who facilitates the entry of border security violators into the Kingdom, transports them within the country, provides them shelter, or offers any form of assistance, faces penalties of up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to 1 million riyals (SAR), confiscation of the means of transport and accommodation used, and public naming.

He added that this crime is considered a major offense warranting detention and is regarded as dishonorable and a breach of trust. He urged the public to report violations of residency, labor, and border security regulations by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 in other regions, assuring that reports will remain confidential and informants will bear no responsibility.
