Badr Al-Janoub parks in Najran attract visitors with mild climate, modern amenities

Badr Al-Janoub governorate in Najran has become a popular summer destination for those seeking mild weather and pristine nature, thanks to its elevated location and mountainous environment, which provide a pleasant climate that attracts visitors from within and beyond the region.

The governorate’s natural parks stand out as key attractions, combining unspoiled landscapes with comprehensive recreational services. The Badr Al-Janoub Municipality continues to enhance facilities and meet the expectations of visitors and holidaymakers.

Prince Mishaal bin Saud Park

Prince Mishaal bin Saud Park is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the governorate, spanning nearly 104,000 square meters at the northern entrance in Al-Asha district along the Asir road. The park serves as the main gateway for tourism and social activities, having undergone development that includes modern walking paths, contemporary shelters, decorative lighting, and 5,000 square meters of green spaces. More than 2,000 trees and native plants have been added to create a comfortable environment for families.

Moua’ah Park: a natural oasis

Located in the Haddadah center, Moua’ah Park is a pristine natural oasis covering 53,000 square meters. It is distinguished by its ancient sidr trees, as well as samr and arak trees lining the banks of Wadi Moua’ah. The park’s relatively cool atmosphere and summer rainfall further enhance its appeal to visitors.

The Badr Al-Janoub Municipality has preserved the park’s environmental identity by using natural rocks for tree basins and pathways, planting around 800 diverse trees, and providing traditional-style shelters, children’s play areas, and family seating along the wadi. Investment kiosks also serve visitors on site.

Municipality’s ongoing development efforts

The municipality continues its efforts to improve quality of life and promote urban livability, planting over 6,000 trees and native plants, and constructing three modern walking tracks to encourage healthy lifestyles. Road networks and public and decorative lighting have also been upgraded across neighborhoods.

Additionally, the municipality has intensified cleaning and environmental health campaigns, strengthened oversight of food establishments and markets to ensure food safety, and advanced digital transformation through the "Balady" platform. Investment opportunities are being offered to develop commercial and tourism areas, supporting comprehensive and sustainable development goals.
