Environmental Security seizes citizen for storing local firewood in Riyadh

The Special Forces for Environmental Security detained a citizen in Riyadh for violating environmental regulations by possessing 13 cubic meters of local firewood. Legal measures were taken against him, and the seized firewood was handed over to the relevant authorities.

The forces explained that the penalty for using local firewood or charcoal in commercial activities can reach up to 32,000 riyals (SAR) per cubic meter, while the penalty for transporting, selling, or storing local firewood or charcoal can reach up to 16,000 riyals (SAR) per cubic meter. The public is urged to report any violations against the environment or wildlife by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 and 996 in other regions of the Kingdom.
