Eight Ethiopians arrested in Jazan for smuggling 160kg of khat

Border Guard land patrols in Jazan have arrested eight Ethiopian nationals for violating border security regulations by attempting to smuggle 160 kilograms of the narcotic plant khat.

According to a statement posted on the Border Guard's official X account, the suspects were apprehended and legal procedures have been initiated before referring them to the Public Prosecution.

Authorities urged the public to report any information related to drug smuggling or trafficking by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, 999 in other regions, or the General Directorate of Narcotics Control hotline at 995, as well as via email at [email protected]. All reports will be treated with strict confidentiality.
