Saudi Cabinet stresses need to safeguard navigation in international waterways

The Cabinet reviewed a message received by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman from King Abdullah II of Jordan, as well as a phone call between the Crown Prince and French President Emmanuel Macron, during which they discussed regional developments and efforts to enhance stability and ensure the security and freedom of maritime navigation.

Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency after the session that the Cabinet, following its review of regional developments, reaffirmed the importance of upholding the principles of international law, including respect for sovereignty, the peaceful resolution of disputes, and the protection of navigation in international waterways. These measures, the Cabinet said, are essential for safeguarding the security of nations, meeting the aspirations of their peoples, and supporting the flow of global trade and supply chains.

The session, held in Jeddah, was chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
