Law professor hails Saudi lawyer classification as key regulatory step

Abdullah Al-Osaimi, professor of administrative and constitutional law at Shaqra University, praised the classification of lawyers in Saudi Arabia.

Speaking in an interview with Al-Ikhbariya Radio, the law professor said the classification of lawyers is an important step toward regulating and developing the profession. However, he noted that relying solely on years of experience does not necessarily reflect professional competence.

Al-Osaimi added that the length of practice alone is not sufficient to assess a lawyer's abilities, as other criteria should be considered, such as specialization, the types of cases handled, and the legal work performed. He also pointed out that Saudi Arabia has both general and administrative courts, meaning there are different types of courts in the Kingdom.
