Jeddah Border Guard detains man for violating maritime safety rules

Coastal patrols from the Border Guard in Jeddah, Makkah region, have detained a Myanmar national for violating the maritime safety regulations for those engaging in marine activities in Saudi waters.

The Border Guard stated that the individual was caught fishing without a permit and using prohibited fishing gear. Authorities confirmed that legal procedures have been initiated in coordination with the relevant agencies.

The Border Guard also urged the public to comply with regulations protecting aquatic resources and to report any violations against the environment or wildlife by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 994 in other regions of the Kingdom.

The Border Guard emphasized that all reports will be handled with strict confidentiality and without any liability for the informant.
