Gulf security tied to energy stability, says Saudi foreign minister

Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said that the security of the Gulf region is closely linked to energy security and the continuity of supply chains, stressing that ensuring stable energy supplies is a shared responsibility that requires international cooperation.

Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly, bin Farhan stated that any arrangements for regional security must be comprehensive and address all sources of threats.

He noted Saudi Arabia’s support for initiatives aimed at de-escalation, affirming the Kingdom’s backing for efforts by Qatar and Pakistan in this regard.

He added that Saudi Arabia is committed to global energy security, warning that threats to maritime navigation pose risks to the world economy.
