Gulf security tied to energy stability, Saudi foreign minister tells UN

Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said that the security of the Gulf region is closely linked to energy security and the continuity of supply chains, stressing that ensuring stable energy supplies is a shared responsibility that requires international cooperation.

Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly, bin Farhan stated that any regional security arrangements must be comprehensive and address all sources of threat.

He noted Saudi Arabia's support for initiatives aimed at de-escalation, highlighting the Kingdom's backing of efforts by Qatar and Pakistan in this regard.

He added that Saudi Arabia remains committed to global energy security, warning that risks to maritime navigation threaten the global economy.
