Saudi Red Crescent in Al-Baha concludes 2026 summer emergency plan after handling over 4,000 cases

The Saudi Red Crescent Authority branch in Al-Baha has concluded its emergency response plan for the 2026 summer season, which aimed to boost preparedness, enhance ambulance coverage, and improve response times, particularly at tourist sites, parks, and venues with high visitor numbers.

During the plan's implementation, emergency teams responded to 4,643 calls, including 628 related to traffic accidents. A total of 2,100 cases were transported to healthcare facilities, with the average response time recorded at 6 minutes and 38 seconds.

The season also saw strong volunteer participation, with 664 volunteers carrying out 415 volunteer opportunities, totaling 18,312 volunteer hours. Training and community awareness efforts benefited 6,506 people, helping to raise first aid awareness and serve visitors to the region.

The branch further strengthened its field presence by participating in more than 20 events and activities, in coordination with relevant authorities and response partners, supporting the emergency response system and enhancing safety at key sites.

The Director General of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority in Al-Baha affirmed the branch’s ongoing commitment to improving emergency services and readiness, utilizing the outcomes of this plan to develop future operational strategies. He also thanked partners from the public, private, and non-profit sectors for their role in achieving the summer plan’s goals.
