Egypt welcomes GCC and Jordan statement, reaffirms Arab unity

Egypt has welcomed the statement issued by the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which emphasized Arab unity in the face of attacks targeting Arab countries.

In a statement released in Cairo on Monday, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Egypt’s full solidarity with all Arab states and its support for legitimate measures taken to safeguard their security, stability, and sovereignty.

Egypt also reiterated its firm rejection and condemnation of any violations of state sovereignty, as well as attacks on civilians, civilian infrastructure, and vital facilities, and any actions that threaten the security and freedom of international navigation.

The Foreign Ministry stressed the importance of respecting the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of states, refraining from the use or threat of force, and adhering to the principles of good neighborliness and non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, in order to help preserve regional and international peace and security.
