New freight transport rules safeguard rights of clients, drivers, companies

Transport and logistics expert Saleh Al-Zahrani said that the issuance of executive regulations for freight transport will eliminate irregular and unregulated practices, while protecting the rights of clients, drivers, and companies.

Speaking to Al Ekhbariya TV, he added that the official framework helps ensure all parties understand their rights and obligations. He noted that Saudi Arabia is witnessing significant growth in e-commerce and food and product delivery applications.

The Transport General Authority recently issued executive regulations for commercial freight transport using motorcycles, moving the activity from a pilot regulatory environment to a comprehensive official framework. This step reflects the sector’s maturity, establishes the foundations of its practice, and is designed to keep pace with the rapid growth of the delivery services sector. The new regulations are expected to enhance market clarity and stability.
