Lebanon condemns Houthi threats to Red Sea shipping, voices support for Saudi Arabia

The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants has strongly condemned the threats made by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia, including those targeting maritime navigation through the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

In a statement, the ministry said these threats constitute a blatant violation of international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

The Lebanese foreign ministry reiterated the need to respect freedom of maritime navigation and to fully implement international resolutions, supporting Yemeni legitimacy and the withdrawal of Houthi forces from areas they have seized.

The ministry also stressed the importance of safeguarding the security of maritime passages and maintaining regional stability.
