Saudi crown prince, Turkish president and Pakistan PM perform Friday prayers at Grand Mosque

Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Pakistan's Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, along with their accompanying delegations, performed Friday prayers today at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

The leaders are in Saudi Arabia on official visits and made a point to perform prayers at the Grand Mosque during their stay.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan signed the "Makkah Joint Defense Agreement," aimed at strengthening the security of the three countries and supporting peace and stability in the region and globally.

The agreement, signed today by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, reinforces the principle of joint deterrence against any aggression, enhancing the ability of the three nations to protect their collective security.

The agreement stipulates that any armed attack against one of the three countries will be considered an attack against all, establishing the principle of collective defense among the signatories.

It aims to develop all aspects of defense cooperation between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, within the framework of shared strategic interests and close defense collaboration.

The signing took place during the Makkah Joint Defense Summit, held at the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz. The summit saw the agreement signed by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif after a review of relations among the three countries and several issues of mutual interest.
