Judicial system amendments to boost stability and retain expertise, expert says

Legal expert and lawyer Dr. Osama Al-Qahtani said that amendments to the judicial system will strengthen judicial stability, safeguard national expertise, and establish a framework that empowers the justice sector in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Speaking by phone to Al-Ekhbariya, he added that the amendments also enhance the continuity and governance of judicial work across different court levels, with a focus on the judiciary, the appointment of judges, and the requirements for their selection.

On Monday, President of the Board of Grievances and the Administrative Judicial Council, Ali bin Ahmed Al-Ahaidib, affirmed that the Cabinet’s approval of amendments to several articles of the judicial system—related to judicial ranks and appointment conditions—reflects the ongoing care and support the judiciary receives from the leadership, as well as its commitment to developing the organizational framework of the judicial system to improve performance and keep pace with changes and developments.

He explained that the new amendments will ensure the regularity and stability of judicial work across court levels, enhance the utilization of judicial expertise and competencies, and contribute to raising the quality of judicial practice and the efficiency of operations within the justice sector.

Al-Ahaidib also noted that the organization of judicial ranks included in the amendments embodies the leadership’s approach to supporting and developing the judiciary, and strengthens the readiness of judicial bodies to continue fulfilling their mission and responsibilities effectively.
