Thunderstorms to continue in parts of Saudi Arabia this week, says weather center

The National Center for Meteorology has announced that thunderstorms will continue in parts of Saudi Arabia from Monday until Friday.

In a statement on its X account, the center said moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and the highlands of the Makkah region, with the heaviest downpours likely on Wednesday in parts of Jazan and Asir. Light to moderate rain is also forecast for the Najran region.

The center added that several weather phenomena are expected to accompany the rain, including downdraft winds, hail, high waves, and flash flooding.
