Academic outlines four reasons for surge in AI adoption

Dr. Rania Abu Al-Ala, associate professor of information systems at King Abdulaziz University, has outlined the reasons behind the sharp increase in artificial intelligence usage.

In a televised interview with Al Ekhbariya, she said that the ease of use and quick access to information have made AI a preferred alternative to traditional search engines like Google.

She added that users' curiosity about AI and its benefits across various fields, as well as its ability to accelerate information retrieval, are also key factors. Both employees and students are now using AI according to their specific needs.

The International Monetary Fund has stated that AI could boost Saudi Arabia’s economy by 6% over the next decade, provided the Kingdom accelerates investment in these technologies, narrows readiness gaps with advanced economies, and increases AI service exports.
