Thunderstorms and strong winds forecast for several Saudi regions Saturday

The National Center for Meteorology has forecast continued moderate to heavy thunderstorms on Saturday, with downpours likely to cause flash floods and hail in parts of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Madinah. Thunderclouds are also expected to form over parts of Tabuk, Hail, Al-Jawf, and the Northern Borders Region, accompanied by strong surface winds stirring dust and sand in these areas.

The report added that surface winds over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to northerly at speeds of 20–45 km/h, and northwesterly to southwesterly at 15–35 km/h, reaching over 50 km/h during thunderstorms. Wave heights will range from half a meter to one and a half meters, exceeding two meters with stormy weather, and sea conditions will be slight to moderate, turning rough with thunderstorms.

In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly at 10–30 km/h, with wave heights from half a meter to one meter, and sea conditions will be slight.
