Jazan governor reviews municipal rain preparedness plans

Jazan Governor Mohammed bin Abdulaziz met today with Jazan Mayor Yahya Al-Ghazwani to review the preparedness of the region’s municipality and affiliated local councils for the upcoming rainy season. The meeting covered field plans and procedures aimed at raising readiness, improving rainwater drainage efficiency, and managing emergency situations.

The governor emphasized the importance of maintaining high preparedness, strengthening coordination among relevant agencies, increasing field inspections, and ensuring rapid response to reports. He stressed that these measures are essential to uphold the highest safety standards and guarantee uninterrupted services for citizens and residents, in line with the directives of the national leadership.

For his part, Mayor Al-Ghazwani presented key readiness indicators, noting the integration of the Emergency and Crisis Center with 25 operations rooms, and the deployment of over 5,000 field personnel, vehicles, and equipment. He also highlighted projects to upgrade rainwater drainage networks and flood protection, which have addressed 481 critical rainwater accumulation sites across the region.
