Regional center records 52 hours of dust storms across region in one day

The Regional Center for Dust and Sandstorms announced that 52 hours of dust storm activity were recorded across the region on Monday, August 17, 2026.

According to the center, Pakistan accounted for the highest number of hours with 31, followed by the United Arab Emirates with 11 hours, Jordan with 5 hours, Iran with 3 hours, and only 2 hours recorded in Saudi Arabia.

The center noted that no dust storm hours were reported in other countries of the region during this period.
