The official spokesperson for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that the coalition’s joint forces command continues to provide full operational support to the Yemeni armed forces. He affirmed the coalition’s ongoing support for Yemen’s legitimate government and the Yemeni people in order to end the coup, restore the state, and rebuild national institutions for Yemen’s future.

Brig. Gen. Al-Maliki explained that the Houthi militia’s ongoing attacks and repeated violations against the Yemeni people—including internal blockades, forced displacement from cities and villages, starvation, looting and dividing resources for their so-called war effort, targeting tribal leaders and members, tearing the social fabric, terrorizing women, and recruiting children for their criminal agenda—are flagrant violations that have brought suffering and hardship to Yemenis for many years.

He added that the Houthi militia’s attacks on Saudi Arabia, including attempts to target the holy city of Makkah and the Prophet’s city of Madinah, as well as deliberate attacks on civilians and civilian sites in several Saudi cities (Riyadh, Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, Najran, Taif, and Yanbu), and attempts to target Saudi vessels in the southern Red Sea and Bab Al-Mandab Strait, necessitate the continuation of essential measures to deter these hostile acts. The aim is to protect the Kingdom’s security and sovereignty, as well as regional and international security.

Brig. Gen. Al-Maliki emphasized Saudi Arabia’s inherent right to defend its sovereignty and security, and to take all necessary operational measures to deter the militia and halt its grave violations. He stressed the Kingdom’s national responsibility to protect the Two Holy Mosques, its citizens, national assets, and residents. He also reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s continued support for Yemen and its people until the state and its institutions are restored, the Houthi militia is eliminated, and the threat to maritime navigation in the southern Red Sea and Bab Al-Mandab is ended. He described this threat as undermining regional and international security, endangering freedom of navigation and global trade, and impacting the world economy and the national interests of all countries.
