Tabuk Municipality carries out maintenance on rainwater drainage networks
Tabuk Municipality has launched preventive maintenance on rainwater drainage and valley channels to boost infrastructure readiness for the rainy season.
Key Takeaways
AITabuk Municipality, represented by the General Directorate of Operations and Maintenance at the Projects Agency, has carried out a series of preventive maintenance works on rainwater drainage networks, valley channels, and culverts as part of its preparations for the rainy season. The aim is to enhance infrastructure efficiency, improve readiness to absorb and drain rainwater, and reduce water accumulation on roads and in residential neighborhoods.
The works included maintenance and cleaning of surface drainage network lines totaling 332,000 linear meters, as well as servicing and cleaning 6,561 manholes and catch basins. These efforts are intended to boost the operational efficiency of the networks and improve the flow of rainwater. The project also involved leveling valley channels and removing debris and obstacles from an area exceeding 221,000 square meters, in addition to maintaining and cleaning 20 culverts located along the valley channels to improve water flow and minimize the risks of water accumulation during rainfall events.
As part of efforts to address targeted sites and improve drainage network efficiency, the municipality adjusted the levels of 19 manholes and catch basins, helping to enhance the reception and drainage of rainwater and improve road safety for users.
Tabuk Municipality emphasized that these efforts are part of its ongoing work to strengthen the readiness of the rainwater drainage system by conducting preventive maintenance, cleaning valley channels and culverts, and addressing targeted sites, thereby supporting infrastructure efficiency and raising preparedness for rainy conditions.
The municipality noted that maintaining the efficiency of drainage networks is a key focus of its operational plans, contributing to reducing the impact of rainwater accumulation, enhancing public safety, protecting property, and improving the quality of municipal services and quality of life in the region.
