National Afforestation Program launches first vegetation support fund on Ehsan

Saudi Arabia’s National Afforestation Program and the Ehsan charitable platform have announced the creation of the first dedicated fund on the Ehsan National Platform for Charitable Work, in partnership with Arabian Cement Company. The initiative aims to channel the company’s donations to support vegetation development projects through local non-profit organizations, contributing to the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative.

Ahmed bin Saleh Al-Ayada, CEO of the National Center for Vegetation Development and Combating Desertification, said the move is part of ongoing efforts by the center, in cooperation with Ehsan and donors from various sectors, to launch more dedicated donation funds for vegetation development.

Environmental initiatives and expanding participation

Al-Ayada noted that several other organizations have expressed interest in joining this initiative to support the Saudi Green Initiative and its objectives to increase vegetation cover.

The National Center for Vegetation Development previously signed a memorandum of understanding with Ehsan to enhance cooperation in identifying environmental sites and technical standards for afforestation projects, launching reliable environmental initiatives via the platform, and enabling individuals and organizations to support vegetation projects, ensuring their sustainability and expanding their environmental impact.
