Thunderstorms, hail and strong winds forecast for several Saudi regions Tuesday

The National Center for Meteorology has forecast continued moderate to heavy thunderstorms on Tuesday, with the potential for flash floods, hail showers, and strong winds stirring dust and sand across parts of Jazan, Asir, Baha, Makkah and Madinah.

The center also said fog may form over parts of these regions as well as in the Eastern Province. Strong winds raising dust and sand are expected to persist in parts of the Northern Borders, Hail, Al-Jouf and Tabuk.

According to the report, surface winds over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to northerly at speeds of 20–40 km/h, with wave heights ranging from 1.5 to 2 meters and moderate sea conditions.

In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds will be northwesterly to northeasterly at 10–25 km/h, with wave heights from half a meter to one meter and slight sea conditions.
