Oman signs official participation agreement for Expo 2030 Riyadh

Oman has officially signed its participation agreement for Expo 2030 Riyadh, joining the roster of countries confirmed to attend the major international exhibition, which will take place from October 1, 2030, to March 31, 2031.

The signing of the agreement establishes the formal framework for Oman's participation, allowing the country to move forward with its preparations, finalize organizational and operational details, and develop its pavilion, programs, and visitor experiences.

The contract was signed at the Expo 2030 Riyadh site by Saeed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture and Commissioner General of Oman’s Pavilion, and Talal Al-Mari, CEO of Expo 2030 Riyadh. The signing ceremony was followed by a tour of the site, including a visit to the location designated for Oman’s pavilion, where development is progressing rapidly.

Al Busaidi stated that the signing marks an important milestone in Oman’s preparations and reflects the deep fraternal ties and close cooperation between Oman and Saudi Arabia. He noted that Oman’s participation will highlight the country’s heritage, culture, achievements, and aspirations.

For his part, Expo 2030 Riyadh CEO Talal Al-Mari said Oman’s signing adds further momentum to the growing international participation. He noted that the exhibition is undergoing a rapid transformation as more countries move from confirming attendance to developing their pavilions and experiences, expressing his eagerness to work with the Omani team to bring their vision to life.

Oman’s signing follows the participation agreements of France and Bahrain, signaling strong early momentum in international preparations. Expo 2030 Riyadh is achieving an unprecedented milestone in the history of World Expos, with participation contracts being signed more than four years ahead of the event’s opening.

Under the theme “A Vision for the Future,” the exhibition will bring together countries and organizations to explore future challenges and opportunities, exchange knowledge and ideas, and collaborate on innovative solutions. Expo 2030 Riyadh is expected to host 197 official participants and welcome 42 million visits over six months.
