Turkey condemns Houthi threats of naval blockade on Saudi Arabia

Turkey's foreign ministry has issued a statement condemning the threat of a naval blockade announced by Yemen's Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia.

In its statement, the ministry affirmed Turkey's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia.

The ministry also stressed the urgent need to end all threats and actions targeting international trade and maritime transport, which jeopardize freedom of navigation and maritime security in the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea.

Turkey's foreign ministry renewed its call to avoid any actions that could escalate current tensions in the region.
