Man arrested for possessing local firewood in Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve

The Special Forces for Environmental Security have arrested a citizen for violating environmental regulations after he was found with one cubic meter of local firewood in the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve. Legal measures were taken against him, and the seized firewood was handed over to the relevant authorities.

The forces clarified that the penalty for using local firewood or charcoal in commercial activities can reach up to 32,000 riyals (SAR) per cubic meter, while the fine for transporting, selling, or storing local firewood or charcoal can reach up to 16,000 riyals (SAR) per cubic meter. The public is urged to report any violations against the environment or wildlife by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 and 996 in other regions of the Kingdom. All reports will be treated confidentially, and informants will not be held liable.
