Saudi health research institute signs MoU with France’s Sanofi during crown prince’s visit

The National Institute for Health Research has signed a memorandum of understanding with French pharmaceutical company Sanofi on the sidelines of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to France. The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in research, development, and innovation, and to support clinical studies in line with the goals of the Health Sector Transformation Program and Saudi Vision 2030.

According to the institute, the agreement focuses on collaboration in research, development, and innovation aligned with national health priorities, as well as supporting clinical research infrastructure and developing research networks.

Digital health and AI at the heart of cooperation

The statement added that the memorandum covers the development of digital health research and artificial intelligence applications, and aims to enhance cooperation in digital biomarkers to improve healthcare efficiency and quality of care.

The cooperation also includes supporting genomics research and translating its outcomes into clinical applications that address health needs in the Kingdom.

The institute added that the agreement will help strengthen national research and clinical capabilities, advance genomics and digital health research, and support innovation by translating research outcomes into tangible health benefits for Saudi society.
