The General Directorate of Civil Defense has urged citizens and residents to exercise caution as thunderstorms are forecast to persist across most regions of the Kingdom until next Friday.

The directorate stressed the importance of staying in safe locations, avoiding flood-prone areas and valleys, and refraining from swimming in them. It also advised the public to follow official instructions issued via media outlets and social media platforms.

The National Center for Meteorology reported that the Makkah region will experience moderate to heavy rainfall, which may cause flash floods and hail, accompanied by strong downdraft winds raising dust and sand. This weather will affect areas including Makkah city, Al-Kamil, Al-Jumum, Bahrah, Taif, Maysan, Adham, Al-Ardiyat, and Khulais, while light to moderate rain is expected in Jeddah, Rabigh, Rania, Turbah, Al-Khurmah, Al-Muwaih, Al-Qunfudhah, and Al-Laith.

The center added that the regions of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Madinah, Hail, Qassim, Tabuk, Al-Jouf, the Northern Borders, and the Eastern Province will also see moderate to heavy rain, potentially leading to flash floods, hail, and strong winds stirring dust and sand.
