Thunderstorms, strong winds and rising temperatures forecast across Saudi Arabia Tuesday

The National Center for Meteorology, in its weather report for Tuesday, forecast thunderstorms with rain over parts of Jazan, Asir, Najran, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province. Strong winds stirring dust and sand will continue to affect parts of these regions, as well as areas of Madinah and Makkah, potentially reducing horizontal visibility to near zero along the coastal road to Jazan.

The center added that temperatures will remain hot to extremely hot in parts of the eastern and central regions, as well as in areas of the Northern Borders region.

According to the report, surface winds over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to southwesterly at 10-34 km/h on the northern and southern parts, reaching up to 50 km/h with thunderstorms on the southern section. Winds on the central part will be north to northwesterly at 15-45 km/h. Wave heights will range from half a meter to one and a half meters, exceeding two meters in the central section, especially with thunderstorms in the south. Sea conditions will be light to moderate, becoming rough in the central part during thunderstorms.

Winds over the Arabian Gulf will be northwesterly to southwesterly at 10-30 km/h, reaching up to 50 km/h with thunderstorms over the southern part. Wave heights will range from half a meter to one meter, exceeding two meters during thunderstorms in the south. Sea conditions will be light, becoming rough with thunderstorms in the southern section.
