Commenting on the incident, political analyst Faisal Al-Shammari said the attack "constitutes a direct threat to the security of the Kingdom, freedom of navigation, and global trade, and demonstrates the Houthi militia's continued escalation with Iranian support to test the international stance."
Al-Shammari added in remarks to Al-Ekhbariya channel that "the Revolutionary Guard wants to open another front and put pressure on the United States by targeting ships in the Red Sea."
He also stated that "the Iranian regime is undermining de-escalation efforts and mediation, and seeks to open another front against the United States."
