Man arrested for lighting fires in restricted areas of Imam Faisal bin Turki Royal Reserve

The Special Forces for Environmental Security have arrested a citizen for violating environmental regulations by lighting fires in non-designated areas within the Imam Faisal bin Turki Royal Reserve, in breach of guidelines to protect vegetation. Legal measures have been taken against the individual.

The forces stated that lighting fires outside designated areas in forests and national parks carries a fine of up to 3,000 riyals (SAR). They urged the public to report any violations against the environment or wildlife by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 and 996 in other regions of the Kingdom. All reports will be handled confidentially, with no liability on the informant.
