AI drives business growth and innovation in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has emphasized that artificial intelligence has become a primary driver for business sector development, opening new avenues for the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs, and boosting their competitiveness in an economy rapidly shifting toward digital solutions and advanced technologies.

This came during the "Artificial Intelligence Week" organized by the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha'at) in partnership with SDAIA, held from August 9 to 13, 2026. The initiative aims to build strong bridges between technological enablers and the business sector, moving AI technologies from theory to practical application within workplaces.

SDAIA noted that the ways in which businesses can benefit from AI technologies are evolving as their applications diversify across products, services, and operational processes. This opens new paths for performance improvement, better resource utilization, and the creation of solutions tailored to market needs, while also enabling entrepreneurs to turn tech ideas into scalable business models.

Hisham Al-Shaddi, Director General of Investment at SDAIA, discussed in a panel session the role of AI in supporting the investment environment and the promising opportunities it offers for building flexible, scalable business models. He stressed that the benefits of these technologies are no longer limited to the tech sector, but now extend across various economic activities to enhance operational efficiency and optimize resource use.

During the week, SDAIA is showcasing a range of digital enablers and solutions at its exhibition booth, such as the "Ruwad Package" and practical data applications, highlighting their use in developing products and services that meet current market needs and keep pace with rapid changes.

This participation is part of SDAIA’s ongoing efforts to support the entrepreneurship ecosystem and provide practical solutions that enhance the readiness of SMEs, aligning with the goals of "Artificial Intelligence Year 2026" to expand the adoption of advanced technologies and maximize their economic and developmental impact in the Kingdom.
