Jeddah authorities remove 270 illegal stalls, destroy 1.3 tons of used clothing

Jeddah Municipality has removed 270 illegal street stalls and destroyed 1.3 tons of used clothing during a large-scale field campaign in the Al-Khumrah district in the south of the city. Authorities also transported 11 tons of confiscated goods to a landfill.

The campaign targeted locations where unauthorized stalls had been set up, as identified by inspection teams. The effort is part of ongoing measures to curb unlicensed commercial activities in residential neighborhoods. The operation included cleaning the area, removing waste, and fully restoring the site.

The Sub-Municipalities Agency at Jeddah Municipality explained that the campaign followed the detection of organized illegal sales of used clothing in the area. Field teams carried out removals and handled the seized items in accordance with official procedures.

Several violators were also apprehended during the campaign, and legal action was taken against them as part of efforts to prevent the return or relocation of illegal activities within the area.

The campaign was conducted in coordination with relevant municipal departments and other authorities, involving monitoring, enforcement, removal, and site rehabilitation.

Jeddah Municipality affirmed that it will continue its inspection campaigns to monitor unauthorized sales locations and take necessary action, aiming to enhance the urban environment and improve compliance across the city.
