Thunderstorms and strong winds forecast for several regions on Friday

The National Center for Meteorology, in its daily report, forecast thunderstorms accompanied by hail and strong winds over parts of Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and the highlands of the Makkah region on Thursday.

The report noted that strong winds raising dust and sand will continue to affect parts of Madinah and Makkah regions, especially their coastal areas.

It also indicated that maximum temperatures will remain high in the Eastern Province and parts of the Riyadh region, with fog expected to form during early morning hours along the coastal parts of the Eastern Province, particularly in the south.

Red Sea and Arabian Gulf marine conditions

The report stated that surface winds over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to westerly at 20-40 km/h in the northern and southern parts, and northwesterly to northerly at 18-45 km/h in the central part, possibly exceeding 50 km/h with the formation of thunderstorm clouds in the south.

Wave heights in the Red Sea will range from one to two meters, possibly exceeding two meters in areas experiencing thunderstorms, with sea conditions expected to be moderate to rough.

In the Arabian Gulf, winds will be southwesterly to southeasterly in the northern and central parts, and northeasterly to northwesterly in the southern part at 10-28 km/h. Wave heights will range from half a meter to one meter, with slight sea conditions.
