Prophet’s pulpit at Prophet’s Mosque stands as historic witness to his sermons

The Prophet Muhammad’s pulpit is located in the southwestern section of the Rawdah within the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, and is considered one of the most significant historical landmarks associated with his life.

The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques explained that the original pulpit dates back to the early years after the Prophet’s migration, when it was crafted for him from tamarisk wood, replacing the palm trunk he previously used for sermons.

The pulpit is linked to a well-known story in Islamic tradition: the Prophet used to deliver sermons leaning on a palm trunk, and when the new pulpit was made and he began using it, the trunk let out a sound of longing that was heard by his companions, until the Prophet comforted it by placing his hand on it.

The Prophet’s pulpit remains a historic site associated with sermons, teaching, and guiding Muslims through the ages, serving as a lasting testament to the legacy of his sermons at the Prophet’s Mosque.
