Egypt and Muslim World League condemn Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia

Egypt has strongly condemned the attacks on Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, describing them as a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s and the region’s security and stability, as well as of international law. Egypt said the attacks represent a dangerous escalation that could further increase tensions and destabilize the region.

In a statement from its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt reiterated its firm rejection of any attempt to undermine the security and sovereignty of Saudi Arabia, and expressed full solidarity with the Kingdom and any measures it takes to safeguard its stability and safety, emphasizing that the security of both countries is indivisible.

The Muslim World League also strongly condemned the continued attacks by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia, including the attempted targeting of civilians and civilian sites in Riyadh with a ballistic missile, as well as in the cities of Bish, Taif, Farasan, and Yanbu. Saudi air defenses successfully intercepted all attacks.

In a statement from the League’s General Secretariat, Secretary-General and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, renewed his denunciation of these treacherous terrorist attacks, which violate all religious values and international and humanitarian laws and norms. He said the attacks demonstrate the criminal approach of the Houthi militia in deliberately targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.

On behalf of the League’s assemblies, bodies, global councils, and all Muslim peoples under its umbrella, Al-Issa reaffirmed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to deter aggressors and protect the security and safety of its citizens and residents. He prayed for the continued safety of the Kingdom, its leadership, and its people.
