Weather and climate key factors in vegetation fires, says NCM

The National Center for Meteorology has emphasized that weather and climate conditions are among the main factors influencing vegetation fires.

In a statement on X, the center said that such conditions are a primary driver of vegetation fires and can increase the level of risk associated with these incidents.

The center added that, through its Regional Climate Change Center, it assesses climate conditions that may lead to fires and evaluates risk levels. It also issues regular reports to support relevant authorities, strengthen preparedness and prevention, and help mitigate the impact of fires.
