Thunderstorms and flash floods expected across several Saudi regions today

The National Center for Meteorology reported on Friday that moderate to heavy thunderstorms are expected in parts of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Madinah, which may lead to flash floods. The storms will be accompanied by strong winds, dust, and possible hail.

The report also indicated a chance of fog forming over parts of these regions, as well as along coastal areas of the Eastern Province.

Additionally, there is a possibility of rain-bearing thunderclouds with strong winds developing over parts of Najran.

Sea and wind conditions

The center stated that surface winds over the Red Sea will be northwesterly at speeds between 15 and 38 km/h, with wave heights ranging from half a meter to 1.5 meters. Sea conditions will be light to moderate.

In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds will be northerly to northwesterly at 10 to 28 km/h, with waves between half a meter and one meter high. The sea will be slight.
