Monsha'at refunds over 255 million riyals to eligible SMEs

The General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises (Monsha'at) has announced that the value of government fees refunded through the 'Istirdad' initiative has surpassed 255 million riyals (SAR), benefiting more than 8,800 eligible small and medium enterprises.

The authority stated that around 38,000 enterprises have initially met the eligibility criteria, reflecting the broad reach of the initiative and its role in easing financial burdens for startups during their establishment and growth phases.

Initiative details and eligible fees

The 'Istirdad' initiative targets enterprises that began operations between 2024 and 2026, covering ten main government fees and charges. The program enables eligible businesses to reclaim several government fees according to approved regulations and standards, including commercial registration fees, economic activity licenses, chamber of commerce subscriptions, Saudi Post subscriptions, patent registration fees, and up to 80% of the expatriate worker levy.

Supporting sustainability and liquidity

The initiative is part of a package of support programs for enterprises in their first three years, aiming to reduce financial burdens, improve operational liquidity, enhance financial stability, and support the growth and sustainability of businesses.

Registration and timeline

Monsha'at noted that registration for the initiative will remain open until the end of 2026, while disbursement of eligible refunds will continue until 2028 according to the approved payment schedule and regulations.
