Mecca joint defense pact aims to safeguard regional stability: analyst

Political analyst Khaled Al-Nazr said the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, signed by Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey, aims to preserve stability in the region. He emphasized that the signatory countries are pivotal players with significant economic, military, and geographic importance.

Speaking to Al-Ekhbariya TV, Al-Nazr added that the agreement is designed to counter chaos, wars, and instability. He noted that the three signatory nations are regional powerhouses with substantial military capabilities.

On Friday, Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Turkey, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan announced the signing of the "Mecca Joint Defense Agreement" during a summit hosted in Mecca at the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
