Thunderstorms, hail and strong winds forecast for several Saudi regions Tuesday

The National Center for Meteorology has forecast continued thunderstorms accompanied by hail and strong winds on Tuesday across parts of Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha. High temperatures are expected to persist in parts of the Eastern Province and Riyadh.

The center also noted that active winds stirring dust and sand will affect parts of these regions, as well as areas of Najran, Madinah, and Makkah. Visibility may drop to near zero in southern coastal parts of Makkah.

According to the report, surface winds over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to westerly at 15–35 km/h, reaching up to 45 km/h in the central part and exceeding 50 km/h with thunderclouds in the south. Wave heights will range from half a meter to 1.5 meters, rising above 2 meters in the central part with thunderstorms in the south. Sea conditions will be light to moderate, becoming rough in the central part with thunderclouds in the south.

In the Arabian Gulf, winds will be northwesterly to westerly at 15–35 km/h in the north, and southeasterly to northeasterly at 10–28 km/h in the central and southern parts. Waves will be between half a meter and one meter, with generally slight sea conditions.
