Qassim University president: Saudi National Day marks unity, progress and prosperity

Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Sharikh, President of Qassim University, said that Saudi National Day tells the story of a nation founded on unity, strengthened by development, and renewed through prosperity. He noted that on this cherished occasion, Saudis proudly recall the achievements of King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud and his loyal companions in 1351 AH (1932), when the unification of the country was declared and the foundations of a strong state were laid, drawing strength from God and the solidarity between leadership and people.

Al-Sharikh added that since that day, the journey of prosperity has continued, as the founder’s sons have carried the responsibility and successive phases of development have followed. Today, the Kingdom stands as a model nation, secure and united, thriving with achievements, and influential in its presence and stature. He explained that when Saudis say on National Day, “Our pride is in our nature,” this phrase sums up a key aspect of the Kingdom’s history: the nation’s pride lies not only in material accomplishments, but also in the values, authenticity, determination, and ambition of its people, which are renewed at every stage.

He continued: Today, under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, the Kingdom is moving forward into a new era, guided by an ambitious vision that invests in people and opens broad horizons for learning, creativity, and innovation. This enables Saudi men and women to be active partners in shaping the country’s future. In this context, the responsibility of universities is clear: building the nation begins with building people, and investing in the future starts with knowledge.

Al-Sharikh said that at Qassim University, the institution is mindful of its role in this journey, working to develop its programs and outcomes, promote research and innovation, nurture talent, and prepare national cadres with the knowledge and skills to help achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. He expressed pride in the university’s students, faculty, and staff who contribute their abilities to serve the nation and safeguard its achievements. He prayed for the continued security, pride, and prosperity of the Kingdom and its leadership, and for success in advancing the path of development and achievement.
