Prince Mohammed bin Fahd University participated as a main partner in the 'Youth Global Talents and Lifelong Learning Strategic Foresight Forum,' hosted in Doha from October 12 to 14. The event was organized by Qatar's Ministry of Sports and Youth, in partnership with the university and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).

The forum brought together delegations from 19 member countries, more than 30 young men and women, as well as a group of international experts and decision-makers. The program featured panel discussions, roundtables, and practical workshops addressing the role of youth institutions in shaping future policies, the future of education and lifelong learning, emerging skills and jobs, and the impact of artificial intelligence and modern technologies on youth and the future of societies.

Workshops and strategic initiatives

The forum included three specialized workshops focused on monitoring changes and drivers of transformation, building future scenarios, and turning foresight concepts into actionable initiatives and recommendations. Young participants aged 18 to 30 took part in these workshops, preparing strategic proposals that were presented on the final day of the forum.

Strengthening partnerships and empowering youth

Prince Mohammed bin Fahd University President Dr. Issa Al Ansari stated that the greatest challenge facing educational institutions is building generations capable of anticipating the future, adapting to rapid changes, and actively contributing to shaping it. He noted that global transformations, driven by artificial intelligence and digital advancements, require universities to rethink the philosophy and objectives of education, with a focus on capacity-building rather than just knowledge transfer.

The university's participation in the forum reflected its commitment to expanding strategic partnerships in future studies and human capacity development, as well as enhancing its role in empowering youth with strategic thinking and innovation skills to help them address global challenges and build a more sustainable future.
