Saudi border guards detain man for violating marine safety rules in Mecca region

Coastal patrols of the Border Guard in Al-Qunfudhah, Mecca region, have detained a citizen for violating the Kingdom’s marine safety and security regulations by fishing without a permit and using prohibited equipment.

The Border Guard said in a statement on its official X account that legal measures have been taken against the offender in coordination with the relevant authorities.

The Border Guard urged the public to comply with regulations protecting marine life and to report any violations affecting the environment or wildlife by calling 911 in Mecca, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 994 in other regions. All reports will be treated confidentially and without liability for the informant.
